The prosthodontic graduate training programme imparts knowledge pertaining to restoration and maintenance of oral function, health, comfort and appearance by the replacement of missing and lost natural teeth. Students are trained on complete dentures, cast partial dentures, crown and bridge work, implant supported prosthesis through didactic and clinical learning. They undergo extensive training using state-of-the-art modern equipment and materials of international standards to enhance their preclinical skills. They also get trained in casting and ceramic work in the Ceramo Metal Laboratory.

Dr. Varun Kumar did his BDS in 2003 & MDS in 2007 from Subharti Dental College & Hospital, Meerut, UP. He is a devoted academician in the field of Prosthodontics and Oral Implantology. He has served as an academician in various colleges and currently working as Professor & Head Department of Prosthodontics in Seema Dental College & Hospital, Rishikesh with total teaching experience of more than 15 Years. He has completed certified course in Palliative care. He is a recipient of the prestigious fellowship of Pierre Fauchard Academy, Academy of General Education Manipal and also is an active life member of Indian Dental Association, Indian Prosthodontic Society and co-ordinator of Dental Surgeon Association of India Uttarakhand. He has conducted 19th Indian Prosthodontic Society PG Convention at Seema Dental College &

He has been appointed as external examiner of various universities. He is the editor of International Journal of Oral Health Dentistry. He is serving as treasurer of National Medicos Organization Uttarakhand state. He has more than 70 publications to his credit and has guided and co-guided numerous researches in various field of Prosthodontics. He has been chairperson and moderator in various conferences. He has exhibited and abid participation in National/State level conferences and holds numerous presentations to his credit. He has also inclination towards community services and conducted various free denture camps. His key interest includes Oral Implantology, CAD-CAM, TMJ, Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. He is also recipient of various awards like Best Academician of the Year, Best Prosthodontist of the Year, Corona Warrior Award and Certificate of Honor for outstanding services rendered in Medical Education.

The Department offers diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of oral function to ensuring comfort, appearance and health of patients with missing or deficient teeth/facial structures. The department focuses not just on patient dental care but also on holistic care of the patient.

Around 1000 Dental implants were placed in our department individually by post graduate students with a success rate of 98.7%.
